The Constitutional and Law Reform Commission (CLRC) today launched its revised Publications Policy, strengthening the Commission\u2019s approach in publishing, preparation, management, and dissemination of CLRC publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first CLRC Publications Policy was adopted in 2012 to guide the Commission in managing all its publications. Since then, significant developments in the Commission\u2019s functions, publishing practices, and digital information management have called for a comprehensive revision of the policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The revised policy was officially launched by CLRC Secretary, Dr Mange Matui, who emphasised that all law reform publications undertaken by the Commission should not remain within the organisation but should be shared with the public and government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Matui said CLRC publications must uphold quality, integrity, accessibility and timeliness, noting that all research work and CLRC reports must meet appropriate standards and contain accurate and relevant information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReport that is written must not be put on our shelves within the CLRC office. This information must be disclosed. The most important thing that I would like to emphasise is this, our publications must be of quality, and our publication must be of integrity\u201d, said Dr. Matui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, \u201cThe effective implementation of this publications policy will strengthen the quality and integrity of the CLRC\u2019s publications and further enhance the Commission\u2019s ability to deliver on its mandate in law review and reform.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The revised policy reaffirms the need for timely completion of CLRC reports, including the management of publication process, submission protocols, quality standards, production, security and confidentiality measures, monitoring and review, authorships, electronic publications and the concept of Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It provides the Commission with a more comprehensive and standard process to guide the preparation, review and publication of its research, reports and other law reform publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Secretary acknowledged the collective efforts of both of Deputy Secretaries and responsible officers in developing and reviewing the revised policy, stating that the revision of the CLRC Publications Policy is a timely approach for the Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The revised document reinforces the CLRC\u2019s core mandate in law review and reform, by ensuring its publications are evidence-based, well-structured, and capable of supporting informed policy and legislative decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n
